Reena Lee Kaplan, nee Harwood, beloved wife for 60 wonderful years of Dr. Jerome Kaplan; loving mother of Matthew and Karen Kaplan, Warren and Denise Kaplan, Nancy and Michael Kuppersmith and Eric and Kelly Kaplan; cherished Nana of Allison and Alex, Doug, Annie, Katie, Josh, Kevin, Alex and Ryan; adored great grandmother of Haley and Charlie; devoted daughter of the late Ina and Bennett Harwood and daughter-in-law of the late Kate and Samuel Kaplan; dear sister of Janice Usow and sister-in-law of Marsha and Gerald Finkle; treasured aunt, cousin and friend of many. Reena was a gourmet cook and made many memorable meals for her family and friends. She loved the arts, including opera, music and live theatre. She travelled the world with her loving husband and was an enthusiastic collector of antiques. She was a self- taught artist and excelled at all forms of arts and crafts. She was the former president of the Lake County Women’s Medical Auxiliary. Her greatest joy in life was her family. A special thanks for the wonderful care Reena received from her devoted caregivers Krystyna Miodynski, Bernie Acuna, Nhing Borres and Grace Kraweic. Chapel service Wednesday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
